    The Betty Queen Center is available for walking during January through April, 2018 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM. These are the only times the gym is available for walking during these Winter and Spring months; however, these hours are subject to change.

  2. Billiards Club

    January 1, 2018, 9:00 AM - April 30, 2018, 3:00 PM @ Betty Queen Center - Teen Center

    Are you aged 21 or older and love playing billiards, but have no place to play? Come join the Cue Ball Billiards Club at the Betty Queen Center. The Teen Center is open most weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The cost is just $10 for membership for January through April 2018. Play pool and spend time socializing with others who love the game. Hey ladies...this club is NOT just for men! Everyone is welcome. Why not give it a try?

  3. Sunday Billiards

    Billiards can now come to the Betty Queen Center on Sundays and play pool in the Teen Center from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. These Sunday Billiards cost $2 each time you attend and are open to the general public ages 21 and older, as well as current Club members.

    Gloria Gilmore and Linda Austin are experienced in African-American genealogy, but the workshop is for anyone looking for family in Louisa County. The historical Society offers regular opportunities to do family research under the guidance of experienced volunteers. Contact the Historical Society for details.

  5. Creating & Exploring Art: Making Mini Rockets, Soap Clouds, Blow Painting, Bubble Art

    Does your child love being creative? Join our instructor Tina Verling as she guides your child’s creativity and encourages them to use their imagination through different art and science medias. Each month we will explore different projects for your child to bring home their very own “Masterpiece” creation. These three-class monthly sessions are available to all children ages 6 through 10. The deadline to register is the Tuesday before the first monthly class date but you should register early, we expect these classes to fill up fast!

  6. Family Days - Spring Garden Preparation

    Hands-on history with learning and fun for all ages at the Louisa County Historical Society! Family Days are themed activities similar to Frugal Fridays, but held on Saturdays at Heritage Farm, located beside the Sargeant Museum at 214 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, with plenty of parking in front of the Louisa Arts Center. These Family Days programs follow an open-house setting from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and are FREE.

  7. Introduction to Blacksmithing

    Have you watched a blacksmith at work and marveled at their forged products? 150 years ago, one out of every 5 people listed their occupation as being a blacksmith and today, this art form is experiencing a renaissance. Have you always wanted to give blacksmithing a try? Here is your chance! Instructor Jerry Veneziano will cover all the tools of the trade, safety, and basic techniques. This will be a hands-on class and everyone will go home with a completed project. The deadline to register for his class is March 12th.

  8. Jessica's Story-time & Crafts

    Instructor Jessica Mehlhaff offers Usborne Books in this storytime and craft classes to children age 1 through 5. Let books open a world of possibilities to your young children. Exciting activity books, as well as neat fiction series, and internet-linked science and history stories will compete with the vast media that attracts children today. All materials for the project/craft AND a book to take home are included for each class. Registration deadlines are the Tuesday prior to Saturday class date.
