Heritage Day

Come see what life in Louisa County was like during the 1820ís! Step back in time through living history demonstrations of Tobacconist, Hearth Cooking, Domestic Arts, Blacksmiths, Broom Makers, Spinners, Weavers, Woodworkers, Gardeners, Draft Horses being harnessed, Field Plows, and Black Powder Rifle Firing. Special interactive fun for children will include making corn-shuck dolls, spinning wool, and needlework, as well as learning how a telegraph was sent and playing games that were popular during that time period. Special guests will be the W. S. Hancock Society portraying living history throughout the event. Food vendors will be present so plan to stay for the day. This Heritage Day family event is co-sponsored by the Louisa County Historical Society and is free to the general public.
