Aikido in Louisa

Aikido is non-violent and non-competitive, but good exercise and beneficial to both body and mind! Through functional movements for effective self-defense, Aikido is helpful in developing coordination and reflexes and teaches one how to deal with the stresses of daily living and acquire a general sense of well-being. The ultimate goal in Aikido is for the individual to develop mental, physical, and spiritual integration, enhancing one’s strengths and minimizing one’s weaknesses. Aikido is an on-going program which will continue throughout the year. This class is for ages 13 through adult. Beginners get individual attention from the instructor and senior students to become familiar with the basics of Aikido practice. Aikido offers adults principles that can be applied to everyday life, emphasizing peaceful resolution of conflicts, improved self-confidence, and enhanced teambuilding skills, resulting in a newly acquired respect for themselves and their coworkers. Jeff Martin, who has over 15 years of experience, is the instructor. Discounts will be given to families with 3 or more members enrolled in this program. There will be no class on May 27th, June 24th, June 26th, July 29th, July 31st and September 2nd. June 5th and September 18th are make up dates, if needed.
