Hearth Cooking ~ Smokehouse Meats

This was the season when the smokehouse was full of meat and the cellar was filled with root crops. Time to prepare some special sweets to add to the family meal. Learn to prepare period recipes with traditional hearth cooking methods. Enjoy eating the entire meal prepared in the historic Michie House under the instruction of The Hearth Cooking Guild from the Louisa County Historical Society. A prior class in basic hearth cooking is helpful, but not required. This class is for ages 18 and older and long cotton pants and good, sturdy shoes should be worn.
